How Much Does IBKR Pro Cost?
In most cases, the IBKR Pro plan at Interactive Brokers does not cost anything. All of the broker’s software tools are free, and there are no recurring account fees, such as annual charges or low-balance fees.
In some cases where fees apply, like market data, the IBKR Pro plan costs the same as the IBKR Lite plan. This is also true for some commissions. For example, forex and bond trades have the same fee schedule on both Pro and Lite.
There are situations where the IBKR Pro plan costs more or less than Lite. For example, trades of U.S.-listed stocks and ETFs have commissions on Pro (but not on Lite). Here are the exact fees:

0.5¢ per share with a $1 minimum commission (and 1% maximum of trade value)

The tiered plan has a minimum commission of 35¢. The 1% maximum also applies. Regulatory fees are passed through on both plans. On tiered, customers also pay exchange, clearing, and pass-through fees.
For options, IBKR Pro accounts can choose fixed or tiered pricing. The fixed plan charges 65¢ per contract, while the tiered plan ranges from 15¢ to 65¢. Lite customers always pay the fixed price. Both plans have a $1 minimum per trade. Futures follow a similar setup, with a base of 85¢ instead of 65¢ and no minimum commission. E-micro futures and options on futures start at 25¢.
IBKR Pro customers can save money when borrowing on margin. They pay between 5.62% and 4.62% depending on the balance. These rates apply to U.S. dollar borrowing; other currencies differ. Lite customers pay a flat 6.62% for margin.
For idle cash balances over $10,000, IBKR Pro accounts earn 1.08%. Lite accounts earn 0.0800000000000001%. Other currencies are generally lower by 1% as well.
As shown, IBKR Pro can be the better choice for traders who use margin often and keep large amounts of uninvested cash.
