Firstrade Trading Tools

Although Firstrade offers trading with a help of a broker, the cheapest and fastest option is trading online. The web site is basic and easy to master even for beginner. A helpful trade ticket at the bottom of the web browser makes trading simple and easy. The lack of a more sophisticated trading platform will leave some investors wanting more.

Firstrade's Java-based applet, X-Stream, gives clients a fully customizable way to get the latest news and watch the quotes for up to 20 different positions. Also, the company offers an easy-to-use iPhone and Android app which is well-designed and enables entering trades fast. Unfortunately, there are no apps available right now for Windows Mobile, BlackBerry and other devices. The apps also don't offer ability to transfer funds, make a mobile check deposit, or pay bills.

Firstrade Promotions

In 2019 Firstrade offers several promotions: existing customers can earn $50 for each friend they refer to the brokerage. The referee must  deposit at least $5,000 and execute one trade. Firstrade is also offering the "Triple 100" promotion: customers opening a new account are eligible to receive 100 free trades when depositing $5,000 or more. Customers who transfer at least $10,000 from another brokerage will also receive up to $100 to cover ACAT fees. And customers who deposit an enormous $100,000 will receive a small $100 cash back.

In summary, Firstrade offers the lowest possible commissions and fees as well as well designed and easy-to-use website. It is a good option for an individual retirement account.
